This bag is from Uzbekistan from the Urgut region.  It takes my breath away.  The exquisite and perfect Iroki stitching (half cross) is an example of this embroidery style at its perfection.  This is the only collective I found that is staying true to the traditional technique of fine Iroki embroidery!  I saw many “fakes” in the markets, meaning less quality materials used and much bigger stitches.  Over 400 rural woman participate in the finished pieces for this collective. All are able to supplement their families household and be a part of their heritage!  

What really makes these outstanding to me is their brilliant sense of color perfection!  Color is everything!  I have used my day bag everyday since I bought it……tons of compliments!
