Triple Roman glass

Several years ago these ancient Roman glass beads showed up in many beads stalls. I had never seen them before.  As the story goes, they are ancient Roman glass that were  at one point bangles (bracelets).  They broke over time with wear and were drilled to become beads.  All of them excavated in Afghanistan!  As quickly as they showed up they disappeared.   Oh how I wish I had bought more!  The colors are rich and organic.  I carefully selected each one for this necklace.  I kept looking at the necklace as I was designing and it didn’t feel complete.  Adding the shells were my final touch!
